Pet food companies from all around the globe are struggling to control mould levels in dry and canned pet food which is putting our pet’s health at risk.

Mould produces aflatoxins which is unsafe for our pets

Aflatoxins are invisible, odourless toxins produced by the mould Aspergillus flavus that can grow on pet food ingredients such as corn, peanuts, and other grains. Aflatoxins can cause illness (aflatoxicosis), liver damage, and even death in pets. Pets exposed to non-lethal doses may experience long-term health problems, such as organ damage.

Pets are highly susceptible to aflatoxin poisoning because pets generally eat the same food (& brand) continuously over extended periods of time. Eliminating aflatoxins from your dog’s body can be really difficult.

What can you do?

Introduce Apiaceous veggies to your pet’s diet today

Eliminating aflatoxins from your dog’s body can be really difficult but serving up Apiaceous veggies is a great way to enhance the elimination of these toxic compounds!

Never head of Apiaceous Veggies?

Apiaceous vegetables include carrots, coriander, celery, dill, fennel, parsnips, and parsley. Studies show adding apiaceous vegetables to the diet counteracts the carcinogenic effects of aflatoxins. These vegetables contain flavonoids and phytochemicals which have been found to inhibit the activity of an enzyme responsible for the transformation of carcinogenic intermediates to carcinogens (cytochrome P- 450 1A2) and the activation of aflatoxin B1 following consumption.

While consuming high concentrations of aflatoxins may be irreversible, counteracting the effects of your pet ingesting small doses of aflatoxins associated with dry and canned pet foods can be helped by this one easy food hack.
